We are thrilled to announce a special partnership with our local senior community to bring the beloved musical Singin’ in the Rain – SR. to the stage, September 25 & 26, 2027 at the Butts County Senior Center.

This condensed version captures all the charm, humor, and unforgettable music of the original while offering a fresh and joyful perspective—featuring a talented cast of performers all age 55 and over.

Set during the exciting transition from silent films to “talkies,” the story follows charismatic movie star Don Lockwood, his loyal sidekick Cosmo Brown, and aspiring actress Kathy Selden as they navigate fame, friendship, and the chaos of a changing industry. When their studio’s leading lady—blessed with beauty but cursed with a dreadful voice—threatens their latest film, the trio must find a creative solution that leads to unexpected romance and plenty of laughs.

Shrek the Musical tells the story of an unlikely hero, a reclusive green ogre named Shrek who lives happily alone in his swamp—until a group of displaced fairy-tale creatures arrive, banished by the villainous Lord Farquaad. Determined to reclaim his home, Shrek sets out to confront Farquaad and is joined by a chatty, loyal Donkey. Farquaad agrees to remove the creatures only if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded tower. Along the way, Shrek and Fiona discover they have far more in common than they expected, leading to unexpected friendship, romance, and self-acceptance. Filled with humor, heart, and high-energy music, the show celebrates embracing who you truly are.
